Industrial gas springs increase comfort of standing wheelchairs
The developers of the PR Biolution stand-up wheelchair from PARAVAN avoid even the smallest jerky movements for the benefit of rehab patients. Therefore, they designed the aid, which was developed according to the strict guidelines of medical technology, with machine elements for maximum stability and safety. This was achieved, among other things, by integrating industrial gas pressure springs from ACE, which perfectly regulate the running and acceleration forces of the electric motor.
Matching Applications
Profile Dampers - TUBUS TR-H
Profile dampers make excellent electric scooters even better For the second generation of their unique, because foldable and three-wheeled e-scooter, the engineers of scuddy GmbH & Co. KG aimed for even more individual damping than the previous model. This electric scooter already uses our TUBUS profile dampers and SLAB cut-to-size shock absorption plates. After consultations with us and successful sampling, scuddy now uses TUBUS of the basic types TR64-41H-OS, TR68-37H-OS or TR79-42H-OS in the new e-scooter Premium V2, depending on the weight class of the owners.

Motion control of test systems for medical pumps Averna needed to create an automated control system with specific and precise properties to speed up medical pump testing. The testing unit also needed a functionality that would allow it to be elevated for sterilization and cleaning beneath the unit. Motion control while lifting and lowering to prevent damage and a feature that would increase ease of use and safety for the operator were additionally implemented. Averna started with the ACE gas spring sizing tool and found the ideal gas spring for this application was a pull type due to environment and space restrictions.
Hydraulic Dampers - HB-12 to HB-70
Steering stabilisation for cargo bikes and E-Trikes The delivery of goods has become very popular with supermarkets. This has increased the demand for bicycles to avoid congestion and contribute to environmental protection. For this type of transport and fast deliveries, a customized small series of cargo bikes in underfloor construction was designed and equipped with electric drive and hydraulic dampers. The dampers supplied by ACE are variably adjustable in compression or traction force from 7 lbs up to 674 lbs. They soothe the chassis of the E-Trikes, serve for safety and increase driving comfort.
Industrial Gas Springs – Push Type - GS-8-V4A to GS-40-VA
Tilt-in-space functions for hygiene and toilet chairs A special hygiene and toilet chair, designed for children and young people with disabilities, must be firmly lockable in the sit and tilt positions. The practical aid thereby provided for relatives and carers can be attributed to two lockable ACE industrial gas springs (push type) which were especially developed and manufactured for this application and operate on the basis of the so-called tilt-in-space function. This allows the chair to be tilted forwards and backwards and provides significantly more convenience for users and patients. In order to meet all hygiene requirements, the gas springs are constructed in stainless steel.

Opening and closing mechanisms for protective hoods in mini incubators ACE industrial gas springs (push type) protect samples in an incubator, which is used for chemical and biochemical applications. The plexiglass hood, under which valuable laboratory equipment is stored, is held securely in the open and closed position by two maintenance-free, ready-to-install ACE industrial gas springs (push type) from the GS-8 to GS-70 product family. With an end-position damping of 0.20 inch and an extension force of 2.25 to 40.5 lbs, they help to handle the forces generated. The hood is always easily opened and remains in this position. It also remains securely shut when the incubator is in operation.

Motion optimisation of accelerators in racing cars The versatility of ACE's industrial gas springs is demonstrated through their use in a racing car. Installed on the accelerator, they compensate disruptive pedal movements through the backflow of nitrogen when the throttle valve is opened. This compensation is achieved through the gas spring building up slight counter pressure. The driver’s foot is thus stabilised in critical situations and can hold the desired pedal position more consistently, despite the vibrations from driving. This results in measurable improvements in both safety and in lap times in comparison to the previously used screw springs.

Compactness and operating safety in the beam arm of X-ray units In order to quickly obtain images of the condition of infected patients' lungs, digital mobile X-ray machines are effective tools in COVID-19 diagnostics. During the first wave in Wuhan, the Wandong company was able to deliver them quickly. This was also because gas traction springs from ACE had already outperformed competitor solutions in tests, and these could then be supplied in several hundred units of consistent quality in a very short time during times of crisis. These industrial gas springs from ACE are important work aids in that they literally relieve the medical staff and increase safety as well as ease of operation of the X-ray equipment.
